~= ■ WELLINGTON RACES. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, July 23. The final day of the Wellington- Racing Club took place under adverse circumstances, rain falling nearly all day. The course was very heavy. The totalisator receipts for the day were £8925, making a total of £34.102 for the meeting, against £41,006 for the three days of 1909. Twenty-thres bookmakers were licensed. Results:—
Corunna Hurdles; 1-J mile.—Mr J. J. M'Kenzie's Kremlin, 10.2, 1; Maharanui, 10.5, 2; Gaelic, 9.10, 3. Also started: Master Paul 11.6, White Lie 9.6, Rosegrove 9.0, and Waiwareware 9.0. Won by four lengths. Time,.3mm lOJsec. July Steeplechase.—Mr J. R. M'Donald's Waione, 10.6, 1; Sir Lethe, 10.9, 2; Beeline, 9.10, 3. Also started: Capitol 12.0, and Corazon 10.9. Sir Lethe led for the greater part of the race, but on entering the straight Corazon took command, and had the race .won, but baulked and refused to jump the last hurdle, Waione getting home by some 20 odd lengths. Capitol fell. Time, 6min 11 l-ssec. Winter Oats; 1 mile.—Mr C. L. Lagor's California, 11.13, 1; Sir Frisco, 11.4, 2; Bollin, 10.7, 3. Also started: Merrie Zealand 10.12, Tip-toe 9.13, Ngapuka 9.12, Kawhaki 9.6,- Royal Marine 9.0, Moloch 9.0, Mataari 9.0, and Ambrosian 9.0. Won by two lengths. Time, lmin 58 3-ssec. Final Hurdle Handicap; If miles. — Mr G. B. Oman's b.g. Paisano, aged, 11.11, 1; Stayboy, 10.12, 2; Mahtita 10:2, 3. Also started: Playmate and Whatakura. Won by two lengths. Time, 3min 1 3-ssec. Kia Ora Handicap; 6 furlongs.—Mr J. T. Millar's Tinatoa, 10.2, 1; Valentine, 9.0, 2; Niwaru, 9.2, 3. Also started: Gold Battery 10.7/; Stepalong 9.0, Ukraine 9.0, and Mediterranean 9.0. Won by two lengths. Time, lmin 26 2-osec.
