WESTON MOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The Weston School Committee met last night to consider the results (f the jumble sale held lately. A statement showed the gross taking from all sources.to be £39 3.r 9cl, a sum with which the Committee were highly gratified. They attributed such a success to the untiring work of the ladies, and, secondly, to donors and friends. The Committee resolved to thank the following:—The ladies of the jumble stall (Mrs Mrs Kelly, Mrs Smart, Mrs Sinclair). Those at the refreshment table (Mrs Harvey, Mrs Jackson, Mrs Irvine, Mrs Battersby, and Miss JJick), the ladies of "the dip" (Mrs Dennison, Misses de Lambert and Denmson), lollie stall (Miss F. Jackson). Mr J. Mitchell at the shooting gallerv, Messrs E, Dick, A. Kelly, and J. Gardiner as scallywag-holders and Air Irvine for Ins untiring attentions to the necessaries too apt to be overlooked; also Wesley Church and MiBell for the use of boards and trestles, and also all donors to the sale, come under similar compliments. The expenses were not heavy and the Committee will be benefited to the extent of nearly £35. The Committee hav.e already resolved to make repairs and improvements. In particular they have decided to-lay out a tennis court for the children, and it is expected the work will be begun in a few days, so that the court will be ready for summer. On Friday, the loth, Weston is to be visited by. St. Paul's choir, who are to.give an entertainment in aid of the Church Building Fund here. It is to be hoped the weather and bad roads will not interfere with the attendance. I hear a rumor that the young folks may have an early opportunity'of showing their agility on skates, but of that I cannot speak definitely. The splendid rains will put the ground in good order for spring, though pedestrians and cyclists are not at all partial to such benefits.
