AUDITING OF COMPANIES' ACCOUNTS.

(Per Press Association.) Wellington. July 13. At a meeting of registered accountants held last night the question as to whether the auditing of public companies' accounts should be restricted to public accountants was discussed. It was resolved that the matter be referred to a general meeting of the Xew Zealand Society' of Accountants, opinions generally b.'ing expressed that there should he no discrimination between members of the Society in this connection, and that the public would be better served and just as fully protected by extending the right to every member of the Society.
