Sergeant Dougan, in charge of the Nelson police station, has been transferred to the charge at Port Chalmers. Mr W. Cowie, the popular assistant auctioneer for the Oamaru branch of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Ltd.), has been appointed auctioneer to the Company s newly-opened Nelson branch. He leaves on Thursday to take up his now duties.
