NOTES.
The Wanaka, on lier East. Coast loading, arrived at Oamani at 8 o'clock this morning. She brought with her to land 20 tons of sugar for local merchants, and will ship 950 tons of produce for Xapier. Gisborne, and Auckland, sailing to-morrow morning via the Bluff. , , , Tho Te Anau arrived at 1 o clock codav from Dunedin. She brought to land 20 tons of general cargo, and will ship 150 tons of produce for Wellington, New Plymouth, and the Coast, sailing to-night via Timaru. _ The trawler Express, which arrived at Oamaru on Sunday, was engaged vesterday carrying out some trials on the Oamani fishing grounds. The catch was, however, small enough to be disappointing, owing to the unsuitable weather, and the short time the vessel was out. The Express is fitted with all tho necessary appliances for trawling. It is intended to thoroughly test the ground with a view to obtaining more remunerative fishing areas.
