RECOGNITION OF THE COLONIES.

[By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.

(Per Press Association.)

Received May 23, at 5.30 a.m. : London, May 22. i The' Daily Mail says that a welcome and most praiseworthy innovation in the funeral ceremony was the presence of Lord Strathcona, Sir' G. H. Reid. and Mr Hall-Jones, which marks a new chapter-in imperial history. The Master of Ceremonies recognised the oversea dominions none too soon, and it is to be hoped that they will be invited in larger numbers and given even more prominent places in future.
