The weather conditions for the second day of the Canterbury Jockey Club's autumn meeting were much improved, and the course was in capital order. The attendance was good, and the racing was extremely interesting. The totalisator investments were £12,180, as against £13,785 last yea?, while nine bookmakers were licensed inside at. £2O 10s each and twenty-nine outside at £lO 10s each. Reid (New Zealand) purchased the Orzilfizz filly at 60 guineas. The principle sales effected were of a\ colt, a brother to Lord Nolan, at 1000 guineas.; PositanoEtraweenio colt, 1125gsJ; Malster-Idalia colt, 674g5; Maltster-Chutney filly, 700gs. The Maltster-Crossfire colt realised 1125g5, the Malster-Rose colt 625g5, the Malster-Adelia colt 930gs, and the Master-Last Loch colt 1500gs.
