I)r Sydney H. Hay, who took his degree at Otago University, has been appointed house surgeon and assistant medical officer at Rotorua sanatorium. Albert G. Holland, Registrar of the Native Land Court at Auckland, has been appointed a Judge of the Native Land Court. At the annual session of the Presbyterian Synod of Otago and Southland | the Rev. W. Wright (Oamnru) was elected Moderator for the ensuing year. A Press Association message from Auckland announces that Mr D. Petrie, Chief Inspector of the Board of Education for 17 years, has resigned. His resignation was accepted with an acknowledgment of appreciation and regret. Mr J. H. Milligan left Oamaru yesterday morning oil holiday. He will be away for some weeks, and intends to spend part of the time at Rotorua. Inspector Gillies completed his annual inspection of the Oamaru district this morning and returned to Christchureh by the first express.
