(Per Press Association.) •Cliristchurch, November 2. At the Presbyterian Assembly a discussion took place on tlie three books of hymns in use in the.'.eliurch in' New Zealand, the matter being introduced by an overture from the Wellington Presbytery. The overture pointed out that there were three different' hymn books in use. in church praise, the Church Hvmnary and the new edition of Church Praise, the use of the having been authorised by the Assembly at different times. In the interest of the solidarity of the Church the Assembly was requested" to adopt on« book as the praise book of the Church. The Assembly decided to adopt the new edition of Church Praise ad interim as the . recognised book of praise, and that the question of its final adoption should be sent down to Presbyteries for report to next Assembly. The position of the Outlook was discussed, and it was decided to appoint a committee to take the affairs of the paper into consideration and report to next Assembly.
