PRESBYTERIAN GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

The Presbyterian Assembly 011 Saturday dealt with a large amount of detail work. ~ The question of the amalgamation ot the Northern an!d Southern Church Extension Funds was referred to a committee, consisting of the Northern and Southern Committees for consultation. 111 connection with the fire insurance fund, ,a. suggestion was made that offers of guarantees should be received at once from members of the Assembly. The question of home missions was discussed, and it was decided to form a New Zealand Presbyterian Missionary League, with the object of assisting home missions, the idea being that fully ten- thousand members can be seciired, yielding contributions of £IOOO towards "the objects of the League. Officers were appointed, and the executive of the Christchurch Presbyterian Association were asked to draw up a constitution and rules.
