FIRES.

(Per Press Association.) Gisborne, November 1. A fire early this morning gutted the two-storey premises owned by James and occupied by M'Plierson, tailor. The brigade by good work saved the Ellerbeck studio adjoining, which suffered damage to the. extent only of £SO by smoke. The building was insured for £8(10 in the Queensland office. M'Phcrson's stock was insured for £2OO in the Standard and £IOO in the Alliance. November I. A fire this morning completely gutted a shop owned by Miss Foot (Wairoa), and occupied by Eastgate (fruiterer). The adjoining premises of Holmes (painter) were damaged, the upper storey suffering principally.
