(Per Press Association'.) Wellington, November 1. The Challenger has been ordered by the Admiralty to search the Kermadecs for the survivors or wreckage of the ship Clan MacPherson. which left Newcastle with coal on June 24 for \ alparaiso and has never been heard ot since. She is now 129 days out, whereas 40 would be the average passage. It is thought she may be drifting at sea in a dismasted condition. The Challenger will sail to-night direct for the Kermadecs and keep in touch with the Promethus by wireless, returning to Auckland.
