DAdSiNEVIRKE RACES. (Per Press Association.) Dannevirke, March 11. Splendid weather again prevailed for the second day's races, and there was a good attendance. The racing was interesting. The sum of £6165 was put through the machine, and eight bookmakers inside and one outside were licensed. Results: Hack. Hurdles, one mile and a-half. — Scenery 9.5, (C. Price), 1; Speciosa, 3.12, (Campbell), 2; Waikareao (Hall), 3. Also started : Hipporcffia, Whatakiira, and Robin Link. Won by a short neck. Time, 2min 50sec. | March Handicap, Six furlongs.—North Head, 8.8, (F. D. Jones), 1; Xoa Tulii, 6.7, (Lambess), 2; Stylish, 8.9, (Mallowes), 3. Also started : Pluck and Merrie Rose. Won by three lengths. Time, lmin 15sec. Telephone five furlongs.—Hermia, 8.10 (F. D. Jones), 1: Inze, 8.3 (Mallowes), 2; Tino Tua, 7.12, (L. Wilson), 3.. Also started: Hercward, Martyr King, Waipunui Oni Pinsent Bonnie Doon Ki.mmerian, Raweva, and l-revail. Won by about a length. Time, lmin 3sec. Taouata Hack Welter, one mile.—First Mate", 9.11, (A. An inquiry was held into the running of First Mate on the first- day, which was considered suspicious. After consideration the owner (Mr 'lelford) and the rider (Olliver) were couponed.
