Waimate County Council Election.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) Great interest was taken in the election of the County Councillors yesterday. A large crowd of people assembled in front of the Council building early in the evening and patiently awaited the result. The only results declared by the Returning Officer were for JJeep Creek and Makikihi Hidings. The other returns will be declared" when the ballot-boxes come to hand, probably Wednesday morning. The second ballot'in the Geriildine electorate evidently swelled the voters in the northern ridings, who thus made the one outing do for both elections. The returned candidates for the two above ridings briefly thanked the ratepayers for election on declaration of the poll. The results are : —Deep Creek Riding.— 1 Tl. H. Dohrman (Kapua Booth 9, Xukuroa, 49, Waimate 241) 299 \ Walker (Kapua Booth 14, Xukuroa 29, Waimate 256) 299 H C. Barclay (Kapua Booth 12.
