To-ninht the first selection—"Gems of Schumann"—was plavcd on the recreation sports ground under the electric lie/lit. The terraces were tilled to crushing point with spectators, and; presented a magnificent spectacle. The weather was beautifully calm, and the softest passages were vividly distinct from every point of vantage in the blue natural amphitheatre. Ihe B Grade bands led off.
