New Zealand Racing Conference.

, (Pee Pbess Association.) Wellington, July 23. .At. the Racing Conference. to-day. it was decided that dividends be paid on the first and second- horse's in the proportion of 75 and 25 per cent, respectively. The Kates and Permit Committee reported that applications for new and additional permits were received from the Papakura, Shannon, Carterton, and Wairarapa Racine; Clubs, but there being no permits available the Committee could not make an allocation. An application. was received from the Dannevirke Jockey Club for an additional permit, -and suggesting that it should receive one of the-permits at present held by the Waipawa County Racing Club. The Committee was unable to make any recommendation. The Paimerston Racing Club having complied with the conditions proposed by the-Dune-din Jockey Club, -vyill be granted permits. The date's of the race meetings were ap- ! proved, subject to the following amendments :—Avondale and North Canterbury Jockey Clubs to select, other dates; Wellington Racing Club spring meeting to be on October 17th. and 19th, the summer meeting on January 22,.24, and 25, autumn meeting on April 30 and May 2, and the winter meeting on July 18, 22, and 25. The Manawatu Racing Club is to be permitted a third day at its Christmas meetings,, the days to include December 25 and 27, and a date prior to those days. The Committee recommended that certificates be. granted to the Huntly and Hukurenui Racing Clubs; that the certificate of the Hikutaia Racing Club be cancelled ; that a St. Andrews' district sports certificate be granted; that no certificate be issued to the Karamea Racing Club and the Redan Sports Club. Sir George Clifford was unanimously reelected chairman. '
