Wedding.

A correspondent writes us as follows : A very pretty and fashionable wedding was celebrated on November 2nd, 1904, at tho Central Baptist Cliuroh, Perth, Western Australia, the Kcv. A. S. Wilson officiating. The church was beautifully decorated with palms, ferns, and white lilies. The. contracting parties were Mr Robert Gillies, eldest son of Mr J. Gillies ("ate of Oamaru), and Miss Jessie Watson, fourth daughter of Mr T. Watson, of this town. The bride, who was given away by Mr George Elliot, looked really charming. her dress being a dainty creation of ivory silk beautifully trained and trimmed with silk lace, cliiffon, and sprays of orange blossom. She, wore the customary wreath and veil, and carried a. lovely shower bouquet of orchids, white carnations, and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids-—Miss L. Gillies and Miss Kthc! Elliot—looked v-.0-y dainty in pretty cream voile dresses, trimmed with ivory satin ribbon and crepe do chine, with crowns of orange blossoms on *ho head. They also wore handsome Now Zealand greenstone brooches, the gift of the brichgroom, and carried beautiful bouquets of crimson, roses and maidenhair fern, with orange colored streamers. Mr Jack Gillies acted as best man, and Mr Jim Gillies as groomsman. The happy couple left tho church to the si rains of the "Wedding March,'' and drove away amid showers of confetti, old .shoes, etc. (In arriving at the residence of Mr J. Gillies, fenr./tho guests sat- down to « sumptuous breakfast, where the following toasts w. re honored :—''Bride and Bridegroom," "The. Bridesmaids," "Parents of the Bridegroom,'' and "Absent Friends.'' In 'he evening Mr and Mrs Gillies enter(i.incd a large number of young friends. Mrs Gillies wore a lovely dress of dove grey silk not, over russell cord of the samo soft shade beautifully trimmed with ribbon and lace. Many lovely dresses were worn by the ladies making a very pleasing picture. Dancing, music, and games were indulged in until an early hour, when the company dispersed after cheers had been given for host and hostess and absent New Zealand friends.
