Eight Nights' Mission

In spite of the inclement, weather on. Sunday evening the mission mooting of the Church of Christ in, the City Temple was largely attended, tho building being almost full. Mr Mahon conducted the service, and delivered an excellent, heartmoving discourse on "Tho Supremo Sentiment of Life," taken from Phil. 1-21—"lor me to live is Christ." During the evenin,? Miss Mahon, sang as a solo "We're Nearing the City," this number being much appreciated. Last night the mission was aJso well attended. Mr J. Bewley, conductor of the Tabernacle choir in Dunedin, who has como up to assist Mr Mahon in tho mission, conducted the singing part of the service, which began with some bright singing of Sankey and Alexander songs. Mr Bewley, wW has a fine voice, sang with great pathos and feeling two solos—"The City" and "My Mother's Prayer." A stirring address was delivered by Mr Mahon in his characteristic style on, the text. "Whom say ye that I am?" which, was listened to throughout with rapt attention. Mr Mahon's address this evening will bo "Tho First Christian Church." Mr Bewley will also sing some of liis favorites.
