(Pbb Press Association.) Wellington. August 17. •Leonard Johns, aged 20 months, son of John Johns, fell into a bath of boiling -water and died in the hospital to-day. DUNEDIN. August 17. At the Arbitration Court William Seater mado a claim of £3OO against the Undaunted Mining Company. Seater had his foot frost-bitten, and the toes were amputated, while working for the company. The case was settled out of court for £65. AUCKLAND. August 17. The cutter Turanuna was capsized by a squall in the Buatuna river with her crew on board. She sank in mid-channel. Tho occupants -were rescued by a small boat. WOODVILLE. August 17. There was a disturbance at the railway station this morning when tho Austral Guards Band was leaving. There had been some dispute with a 'bus driver the previous evening, and one of tho band is alleged to have struck him, tho driver retaliating and the others taking a hand till the bandsmen took refuge in tho train. It is possible that informations for assault will 00 the outcome of tho fracas. HASTINGS. August 17. In connection with a series of minor burglaries at Hastings, a gang of four lads, ranging from 15 to 18 years, and respectably connected, were arrested and appeared at the Court this morning. They were remanded to Tuesday.
