Tho occupants -were rescued by a small boat. WOODVILLE. August 17. There was a disturbance at the railway station this morning when tho Austral Guards Band was leaving. There had been some dispute with a 'bus driver the previous evening, and one of tho band is alleged to have struck him, tho driver retaliating and the others taking a hand till the bandsmen took refuge in tho train. It is possible that informations for assault will 00 the outcome of tho fracas. HASTINGS. August 17. In connection with a series of minor burglaries at Hastings, a gang of four lads, ranging from 15 to 18 years, and respectably connected, were arrested and appeared at the Court this morning. They were remanded to Tuesday.
