THE "BICYCLE GENTLEMAN."

To tie Editor. Sir.—Scene: Reed street. Time, Sun<Jav evening-. Lady walking towards the north end of the town, on the footpath, west side of the street, just before dusk; when near Mr John Thomson's store the lady is Diet by a "bicycle gentleman" riding on the asphalt footpath. Bicycle Gentleman: "Hi! get out of the way, or I'll push you in the gutter." Lady: "Oh. certainly, anything t-o oblige ;t gentleman": and the lady stepped into the gutter just in time to allow the "gentleman" to pass. This letter is written at the request of the lady in question, who desires to apologise to the "bicvcle gentleman" for her inability to "get 'Hit-of the way" as <iuickly as the "gentleman" evidently desired. The lady (nut being very well) was on hsr way to consult a doctor. The husband of the lady in question proposes taking a walk nest Sunday evening on the same footpath. Will the "bicycle gentleman," as- he rides along the footpath, kindly repeat his demand and threat. The husband possesses a fine blackthorn stick, and a flexible wrist, and he solemnly promised his wife that, should the "bicycle gentleman" put in an appearance and repeat the performance, there will be a broken bicycle for Donald Miller to repair on Monday morning, and a "bicycle -entleman" who will not be able, to sit n machine—well, say for a day or two. I iun. etc.. REED STREET.
