The General Election.
(by telegraph.) Wellington, December 11. No definite announcement as to the Otaki candidates will be made until after Mr Field's funeral, which takes place to-morrow. His interment will be a private one. Auckland, December 11. The final scrutiny of the City election, owing to the number of double votes, resulted as follows ;
Dunedin, December 11. The ofliclal declaration of the poll for the City showß a slight decrease of votes as follows :
In Caversham the official return ehows that Morrison polled 2869 voteß, and Warren 1752, while there were 56 votes informal.
