DUXEDIN. December 8. The return from the Inch Valley Gold Dredging Company is 21loz; Golden Terrace. 16oz 12dvt 7gr; Deep Stream Amalgamated Sluicing Company, for the month, 120oz.
CHRISTCHURCH. December S. The Arbitration Court finished hearing evidence in the plumpers' dispute, and adjourned till .Monday, when legal argument in the grocers' case will be taken. The bootmakers' ' dispute cannot be reached before Wednesday.
INVERCARGILL. December 8.
The Grain Brokers' Association report a good inquiry for oats, and the prices are Bomewhas firmer. 'A' grade are quoted at 2a Id; ' B/ 2a; • C.' 1= lljd (f.o.b. Bluff, Bcidcs in)* The weather has been very unsettled during the week, and cold winds prevail.
AUCKLAND. December 7. Mr Benjamin Cohen, a resident of Wellington for 30 years, died yesterday afternoon at the residence of bla eon-in-law* Mr J. Ziman. He came here two and a-half years aso. Sir David Ziman, formerly of the West Coast, is another son-in-law of the deceased. The remains go to Wellington to be intered alongside those of the late Mrs Cohen.
