Captain Edwin telegraphs to-day as foliows : Wind. —Strong from between W. and S. W. and S, at all places northward of Kaipara and Whangarei ; gale from same direction at all other places, and heavy gale southward of Kaikoura and Hokitika, Barometer.—Further rise everywhere. Sea. Heavy on all western coast a'nd on east coast southward of E'Stl Cape. Tides.—High on western coast northward of Cape Farewell and Foxton, moderate from thence southward, high on east coast south of East Cape, good bub decreasing elsewhere.
