The Weather.

Captain Edwin telegraphs to-day as follows: Wind. —Gale, with rain, between north and west and south-west at a.ll places northward of Thames and Manukau, and from between north-east and north and west from thence southward to Blenheim and Nelson, but gale, with rain, from between north and east and south-east at all other places after from eight to twelve hours. Barometer.—Rise at places northward of Thames and Manukau ; further fall everywhere else, but rising after 12 hours. Sea. —Heavy on west coast north of Greymouth and on east coast north of East Cape and southward of Napier. Tides. —High on west coast north of Hokitika and on east coast of South Island; gooa elsewhere. Mr Paulin predicted last night:— " S.E. to N.E. winds, changing to S. W., and rain showers within 24 hours."
