HORTICULTURAL SHOW.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —With regard to the protest entered by Mr Webster against my stand of marigolds t canuot let it pass without letting the public know that Mr Webster is wrong. Now, sir, in regard to class B, " Cut flowers, schedule No. 25, 12 marigolds, French or African, distinct," not mixed as Mr Webster put thorn, had it read as it does in class F, cut flo>vers, amateurs, then he could have put them up as he did, mixed. There are only six varieties of African sent out that I know of, and some of them very poor, not worth growing ; so that it was impossible to put up 12 distinct. Now, Mr Webster says he can prove that I had five varieties all French. I can prove Mr Webster wrong there, for I had only two varieties, and they were African and fairly good, not poor specimens like Mr Webster's, which were of both varieties and not worthy of a prize.—l am, etc., S. J. Bradbury.
