London Markets.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cable message from their London office, under date 2nd inst. : Wool.—The sales closed firmly. Since the close of last sales the following descriptions have altered in prices as under : Merino—Greasy super, washed super, scoured super, washed medium and inferior, scoured medium and inferior, Id per lb higher; greasy medium and inferior, slipe, greasy lambs' super, greasy lambs' medium and inferior, §d to Id per lb higher. Crossbred—Fine washed and fine scoured, Id per lb higher; fine greasy, ■|d to Id per lb higher. Other descriptions are unchanged. The total quantity sold during the past sales is 151,000 bales, of which 60,000 bales have been taken for the Continent and 10,000 for America. It is estimated that 20,000 bales have been held over for future disposal.

Rabbitskins.—The demand is active. All descriptions have advanced fd per lb since last report.

Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, have received the following cable message from their London office, under date January 2nd :

Wool.—The sales closed firm, and lately reported rates are fully maintained. The total available, including old stocks, of colonial (Australasian and Cape) was 170,000 bales, out of which some 87,000 have been sold for Home consumption, 60,000 for the Continent, 12,000 for America, leaving 20,000 to be carried forward to the next series. As compared with the closing rates of last series, prices are, on the average, 5 to 10 per cent higher for the bulk of greasy merino wools, 5 per cent higher for the bulk of scoured merino, good and best qualities, 5 to 10 per cent higher for inferior merino, 5 per cent higher for the bulk of fine greasy crossbred wools, no change in greasy crossbred, coarse descriptions, 5 to 10 per cent higher for scoured merino combing pieces, faulty, par to 5 per cent higher for greasy morino lambs' wool, inferior and faulty. Tallow.—Since our last telegram, beef tallow in general is lower by 3d per cwt. For other descriptions any change in prices is in favor of buyers.
