Mfxboiiexe, February 7. The lonp; spell of intense heat has broken, and a cool southerly wind set in yesterday. This has had the effect of farther checking the bush fires. Pitiable stories of distress and suffering are brightened by many deeds of heroism. Twentyfrnr families were burned out in the Aliambee district. A remarkable, sight waa witnessed of large numbers of animals aad birds being driven to take refuge in the townships.
