The nearest approach, so for, to real color photography has been made l>y M. Ch»«sa2tie. "has been demonstrating hla process to a number of experts in the Kind's College laboratory. An ordinary photographic plate is treated with certain salts—the nature of which is at present kept secret. A photograph i 3 taken and developed in the usual way. A print is then made from this negative on photographic paper which has been treated with t&e secret solution. The print is afterwards washed over with dyes of the three primacy colors, when a process of selective absorption takes place, each part r f the picture acted upon by any parcicular color absorbing from the dye—or a comOinaiicrt of toe dyes in the case of the intermediate shades of color—its own particular color or shade, and rejecting the rest. The resultant coloring is said to be exceedingly faithful to nature. The famous oratorio sinsrer, Madame Kdith Wynne (Mrs Agabec), a<*ed 55 years, has afso pissed away. She w;»s known as "The Nightingale of Wales'' and the Bethesda Quarries' Choir sang at her grave.
