The third match between the above clubs took place in Mr H. Schlnter's paddock on Jannary 14tb, and attracted a fair crowd of supporters of both side*, the Pukeurl representatives being specially favored by great support from the ladies. As both teams had a win to their credit, the greatest interest was taken in the conqueror, which resulted in a win for Hilderthorpe by one wicket. Owing to the wet wicket the fcowlers on both sides were almost unplayable, the result being small scores As tbe game drew to a close the greatest excitement prevailed, and J. Dennison, the Hilderthorpe batsman who raide the winning hit was carried shoulder-high to the pavilion. The following are the scores : Pckettbi.—lst Icnrng3. A- FcMutcr (capt.), b T).
