(BY TELEGRAPH). Dunedin, January 15. At the Inquest on the young woman Jane Lindsay M'Corkindale, whose body was found at the foot of the cliffs near St. Clair, the medical evidence attributed the despondency to which the deceased had,been subject, for some time, to the effects of influenza. The skull was fractured. It could not be said how she came by her death. A verdict of found dead was returned. Masterton, January 15. Annie Taplin, aged 21, the daughter of James Taplin, of Taratohi, was drowned fording the Runahunga river on horseback this morning.
