[BY TELEGRAPH.] (rER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON. December 9. Lady Glasgow will lcavo Wellington on tho 15th fov a trip in Auckland wntors for tho benefit of her health. In order to allow tho Governor and Lady Glasgow and family to make the trip, tho now Government steamer Tutanokai has been placed ab their disposal, and tho trip will occupy three weeks. Major Polo Penton, tho new Commander, has been granted tho local rank of colonel. Mr Justice Edwards delivered judgment, to-day in the divorco suit of Martin v. Martin, heard last week, in which the petitioner (Frederick Martin, a plumber,) sought for a divorco from his wife on tho ground of alleged misconduct with William Ridgeway, of Carterton. His Honor, in tho course of his judgment, expressed tho opinion that tho letter which petitioner has produced as having been written by his wife, in which sho apparently admitted her misconduct, but asked to bo taken back, was a forgery. He dismissed tho suit, allowing L 25 and disbursements as costs to tho respondent, and LlO to tho co-respondent, Ridgeway. Tho letters produced in Court woro ordered to bo impounded, CHRISTCHURCH. December 9. \ meeting of Mr W. W. Collins' combined election committees was held tonight, and passed a resolution expressing regret ab his loss to political lifo, and n wish to secure tho co-operation of Liberals in presenting him with a testimonial. Tho meeting, which was vory largo and enthusiastic, resolved not to disband in order to facilitate Mr Collins' re-ontry into Parliament. Considerably ovor LIOO towards the testimonial was subscribed in the room. At tho Police Court to-day William Longdin was fined L 5 and costs on r charge of conduct calculated to provoke a breach of tho peaco. A Prohibition, meeting was held in Cathedral Square last week, and the defendant had driven an express through the crowd. A number of men with blackened faces wero in tho vehicle shouting and singing, and tho disturbance led to the meeting being given U PAUCKLAND. December 9. A largo property salo of tho Assets Realisation Board was held to-day, consisting of business premises in tho city and suburbs, and 103 building allotments in tho Surrey Hills estate. Satisfactory prices wero realised. Tho late Sir F. Whitaker's residence, Lake Takapuna, with 23 acres, sold at L 55 per aero. Owen and Graham's old Queen streob premises, with the lease expiring in 2853 (?) was sold for Lb'47s. A number of purchasers are in treaty for various lots at reserve prices. Tho salo is regarded as very successful, and as showing that investors havo confidence in tho future of Auckland.
