Agricultural Shows
(by telegraph.) Invercargill, December 9. The Southland Agricultural and Pastoral Show had a very large attendance to-day; indeed, the general belief was that it was a record, but that was not borne out by the receipts. The weather was fine, but sultry. The champion draught entire was Mr R. Cupple's Crai»ievar ; mare, Mr W. Patrick's Pride of Kilsyth, who also took the award for two mares. For new cheese the Stirling Factory Company took first and third, and the Wyndham Factory second. Old cheese, Stirling factory 1, Inchclutha 2. There was a large and excellent show of machines, implements and carriages. The grounds are now in fine condition, the northern visitors admit that the proximity to town, area, and situation are the finest in the colony.
