(BY TELEGRAPH.) Chbistchttrch, December 9. A meeting of the New Zealand Cricket Council was held to-night, and attended by Mr J. H. "Wood (Nelson, in the chair), Eon. E. C. J. Stevens (Auckland), Hon. W. H. E. Wanklym (Taranaki), J. N. Fowke (Auckland). G. A. V. Tapper (Southland), J. U. Collins and C. A. Treweek (Wellington), A. Fairbairn (Otago), H. D. Carter, T. D. Harman (Canterbury), and C. R. Smith, hon. secretary. The accounts for the New Zealand. match showed :—Receipts, L 685 ; expenditure, L 504 7s. Of the profit of LBl the sum of L6O 15s went to the Canterbury Association. The statement of accounts for tee whole tour showed:—Receipts : Auckland Association, L 223 10s; Wellington, Ll5O ; Southland, Ll5O ; Otago, L15116s 9d, New Zealand match, L 585 7s :—total, L 1260 13s 9d. Expenditure: Australian Eleven, half of the gross takings in five matches (exclusive of the stand receipts in the New Zealand match), 1811 18s 2d ; expenses of the New Zealand match, L 267 Is 6d ; share of profit to Canterbury Association, L6O los ; expenses of delegates accompanying the team, L2O los Id ;—total, L 1165 93 9d. The profit to the Council over the whole tour is L 95 4s. The following programme of matches for the Queensland tour was decided upon:—Auckland, December 22 and 23; New Zealand match, Wellington, December 26, 28. and 29; Hawke's Bay, December 31, January 1 and 2; Canterbury, January 8, 9, 11; Otago, January 15, 16, and 18; Southland January 20, 21, and 21. As to the match with New Zealand, the Secretary stated that the Wellington Association offered to give up their match in favor of that with New Zealand. They, however, had not given a guarantee for that match, though they had for the provincial match. After discussion it was resolved —" That the New Zealand match be played at Wellington on December 26, 27, and 29, provided the Wellington Association agrees to share the risk equally with the council, In which case the association also shares the profits in the same proportion." It was resolved to ask the provincial associations in the event of their making a profit over the Queensland matches to allocate 10 per cent to the council. The time at the disposal of the Council being limited, Messrs Fowke, Tapper, and Smith were appointed selectors for the New Zealand team. It was decided to write to Major Wardhill asking if arrangements could be made for a visit from Stoddarf s team to New Zealand next season. In reference to the points that cropped up on the finish of the Australian match, it was resolved to ask the ruling of the Maryleboue Club:—(1) When a match is actually finished? (2) When time should be called? (3) Whether an umpire has power to allow for what he considers waste of tinted
