The Premier has received from Mr Seddon a telegram of sympathy with the sufferers in the Stockton disaster. Melbourne, December 10. The " Australasian" estimates the wheat crop at 6,904,000 bushels the average being something less that 4 23 bushels per acre. The total crop will barely suffice for seed and food. Against a probable deficit of 121,000 bushels is to bo set off the stock of old wheat and flour, which will about suffice to make up the defioit. Adelaide, December 10. The barque Hunz, which left Port Pirie for Devonporb on Juno 16, is considerably overdue, and reinsurances at L 75 per cent have been effected. English files state that H.M.S. Pearl will relieve the Ringarooma early next year. Received December 10, at 11,5 a.m. Perth, December 10. Professor Maryanski confirms the discovery of telluride at Kalgoorlie. Ho says that it is beyond doubt the riohesb find in the world, and ore of such richness has never been found before excepb at Cripple Creek, in Colorado. Albany, December 10. Melbourne, December 10. Arrived—Star of Victoria, from London. Received December 10, at noon. Brisbane, December 10. As a satisfactory assurance has been given to the Government by the promoters as to the financial stability of the scheme for holding an exhibition, the Government) has decided to extend its patronage to the venture, on the distinct understanding that it means no financial liability other than is Involved in concessions as to printing, postage, and railage. A cable has been sent to the Agent-General in London to this effect. The buildings used for the Hobarb Exhibition will be .erected. The exhibition, which is well forward In the matter of British and Foreign exhibits, is expected to open about May. Hobart, December 10. An exploration party has discovered a splendid route to connect Hobarb with the junction of the Gordon and Denison Rivers. The route traverses a good deal of open country, and avoids high altitudes. Another survey party is still out, and hopes to find a practicable route from the southern side to Gordon and Strahan, opening up valuable country.
