Dunedin Markets.
(BY TELEGRAPH). Dunedin, August 24. Messrs Donald Reid and Co. report that prices at their auction sale to-day were as follows: Oats.—The demand continues fairly strong for lines of good short bright fee:!, but with no quotable improvement in values. Medium quality is not so saleable ; Tartars, suitable for seed, are in request-.. We quote- seed lines Is lOd to 23 3d ; good to best feed, Is 8d to Is BJd ; medium, Is 6Jd to Is 7£d per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat.—A fair demand for fowls'wheat, of which we sold several lines to-day at 3s to 3s Id per bushel (sacks in). Other sorts are unchanged. Potatoes.—The market is by no means over sapplied and late values are well maintained, prime Northern Derwents being in most demand. Best Derwents, L 3 2s 6d to L 3 7s 6d; medium, L2 17s 6a to L 3; kidney, L2 5s to L2 15s per ton (sacks in). Chaff.—The supply on hand is ample for present requirements. Medium quality is in over supply and almost neglected. Best oaten sheaf, L2 5s to L2 7s 6d; extra heavy, 12 10s ; medium, LI 17s 6d to L2 2s 6d; straw chaff, unsaleable. _ Turnips.—We have enquiries for r rood swedes, but at present the market is bare.
