Accidents and Fatalities.
(by telegraph.) Auckland, August 24. A boating accident took place at Northern Wairoa on Wednesday, which resulted in the drowning of George Barker. Barker and another man named Gintop left Darg&ville in the evening, and proceeded ap the river in a boat. When about 16 miles on their journey the boat capsized, and both men were thrown into fte water. Qintop clang to the boat, »nd eventually got ashore, bat Barker aank at once. The body has not been Recovered. Dttkedht. August 24. About six weeks ago a eirl six years of a daughter of James Ewarfc, a settler at Cannibal Bay, near Port Molyneox, Tm lost in the bosh. Search parties failed, to find any trace or the child. On Friday Mr Ewart found a small tin with shells about a mile from the house, and with this ciae of the direction taken the search was resumed, and on Sunday, half * mile further on, the body of the little one was found. The country is rough and Wly and covered with bush.
