Land Ballot.
A ballot was taken at the Crown Lands Oflice on Thursday for small grazing run 9 of 23, Kurow, situated at the back of the town of Kurow, and containing 1929 acres. The rental was 7-id per aero. Thirty applications were received, and Walter Sutherland was the successful applicant. The ballot was conducted by Mr W. Robertson, under the supervision of Mr J. P. Maitland, and Mr T. A. Munro acted as scrutineer. The following were the unsuccessful applicants :—Walter G. Munro, James M'Pherson Munro, T. A. Munro, Herbert J. B Munro, E. A. Munro, R. A. Munro, William Mitchell, John Orr, Mary S. Hill, William G. Hille, Frederick W. Hille, W. H. Ross, George Cairns James Smith, John Healey, D. G-. Middleditch, J. M. Middleditch, Archibald J. Middleditch, Alfred J. Middleditch, Elizabeth Smith, Elizabeth A. Smith, William Cunningham, James Cunningham, Thomas Gordon, Bernard Belargy, George Fiddss, Amelia B. Fiddes, Thomas Fiddes, and William Bayne (informal).
