Woon was for sixteen year* clerk of the R.M. and District Court* here, and was retrenched in 1892, He was the eldest son of the late Rev. W. Woon. Wcsleyan Methodist missionary at Tonga and the Friendly Islands. Deceased was the founder of »he first newspaper in New Plymouth (the Taranaki Herald).
