(BY TELEGIIAI'H.) WELLINGTON. December 20. To sail at 5 p.m.—Doric, for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. The Idralema, the first of the New Zealand Company's chartered steamers, will probably sail for London at daylight to-morrow.
DUNEDIN. December 20. The Education Board have decided to remodel the School of Art by adding instructors in building construction and painting to the staff. By a majority of one they practically declined to take further action in the Moa School case. The Education Board have conferred the appointment of a third inspector on Mr Fitzgerald, late of the Normal School. John Wells, licensee of the Provincial Hotel, was fined 40s and costs for employing a barmaid after hours. A second charge of keeping open after hours was dismissed on the ground that the place was kept open for the convenience) of boarders.
