The newly-formed anti-Chinese Asso - elation convened a public meeting, a t which it was resolved to asb the Govern - ment to stop further emujrntion of Chinese, East Indians, and coolies, for a number of years, or if that is impossible, to raise the poll-tax to LIOO. Messrs J. W. Kelly and Hogs, M.H.R.'s, were among the speakers. The Mahinapna arrived at 2.45 with the San Francisco mail. The Penguin takes I the southern portion leaving ab 5 o'clock ! for Lyttelton. DU2TEDIN. September 14. } The premises of Caroline, grocer,! Stafford-street, were burglariously entered,and 601b of tobacco stolen.
