It Is stated that at the instance of Marshal Peixoto 58 -*rmy and navy officers and public officials associated with the recent rebellion were summarily phot in Parana and St. Katharina, mostly within a few hours after arrest. The Chronicle's Russian correspondent says that the Czar has been suffering from mental degression and cereberal affection. Prayers have been ordered for his recovery. The visit to his hunting-box in Lithuania resulted in an improvement. Received September 14, at 1.20 p.m. Losdos, September 13. At the Bank of England meeting Sir E. Clarke, on behalf of the shareholders, proposed that an inquiry held into the proceedings of ny, the late cashier. In reply Mr Powell said that Sir E. Clarke should not make statements on the authority of customers. The motion was not seconded.
