Supreme Court.

[by telegraph.] Napier, September 11. The Supreme Court was opened to-day before Mr Justice Richmond. There was nothing special in his charge, but he commented strongly on the immorality disclosed in the evidence in a case against an expressman named Clarebutt, charged with a felonious assault on six young girls. Roderick M'Kenzie, charged with stealing a watch, was found not guilty, but on a second charge of a similar nature he was convicted. Frederick Harold Cooper pleaded guilty to two charges of obtaining money by false pretences and one for forgery. He is an educated and wellconnected young man of 22. F. C. W. Bierre, late Town Clerk at Danevirke, pleaded guilty to two charges of fraudulent misappropriation of money. Sentences were deferred in all cases.
