Jones, of Christchurch. Kerr, of New South Wales, was second, and was the only other one to finish. Kerr and Simpson collided in the second last lap, and the latter being hurt was unable to remount. J ones then went on, and in the last lap drew away and won easily. Time, 29min 56sec. Received September 9, at 6.15 p.m: Melbourne, September 8. M'Lean Bros., hardware merchants, of Elizabeth - street, have failed. Their liabilities are set down at L 140,000, and their assets at L 25,000.
