Tallow—Medium mutton, 24s 6d ; beef, 235. The English wheat market is firm, the Continental is steady, and the American is changing a little for the better. A shipment of Geelong pigs, although considered too heavy, realised over 4d per lb. Rio de Janeiro, September 8. The Kaikoura arrived all well and wit a her meat in good order. The refrigerator, repaired at Ly:: -.. Un, is working satisfactorily. Received September 10, at 2.25 p.m. London, September 10. Lord Ripon, writing to the Earl of Aberdeen, Governor-General of Canada, on behalf of the Qaeen, sincerely thanks the' Ottawa Conference for their loyal address. The letter states that the Queen was deeply interested in the proceedings of the Conference. The Spanish and Portuguese Courts have been ordered to go into mourning on account of the death of the Comte de Paris. St. Petersburg, September 9. The Czar is recovering.
