Meetings.
LIVINGSTONE. A special meeting of householders was held at the the Maerewhenua. School on Monday evening to elect a new school committee. About 12 householders were present, and Mr Bailey was voted to the chair. The retiring secretary (Mr John Adams) read the balance-sheet, which showed a crodit balance in the bank of LI 10s lid, and L2 6s Id in hand for the newlyelected committee. There were seven members nominated and • duly .elected as follows: Messrs Thomas Howe, Hugh Lozelly, William Bailey, John Adams, Thomas Howland, William M'Ranald, and Edwin Gatchell. Mr Bailey was re-elected chairman and Mr John Adams secretary and treasurer. The newly-elected committee decided to hold a dance in aid of the school funds on Friday, June 22nd, and Mr Hugh Lozelly, Thomas Howe, and Thomas Howland were chosen a committee to carry out the necessary work attached to it.
