Received May 24, at I a.m.] Cmro, May 23. The coaling coolies at Port Said have struck. Many ot them were injured in the riot. British gunboats are held in readiness to supresa any disturbance, if necessary. Paris, May 23. M. Jonnart, Minister of Public Works declined to allow the employees on State railways to combine. After an excited debate the members of the Government left the Chamber amid shouts of "Vive la Commune." The Chamber adjoaraed till Morul.vy, hut. it is understood the Government wilt rusign. A section of the Right coalesced with the Radicals in voting on the question. The President is suspected of provoking the defeat of the Ministry in order to discredit the Premier, who is a candidate for the Presidency.
