The Te Aro Railway Goods Shed.

Under instructions from the Minister, the Under-Secretary fpr Public Works has written to the Wellington Harbor Board and the City Council, enquiring whether those bodies still persisted in their objection to the construction of a railway goods shed at the Te Aro end. of the city, and the consequent reclamation from the harbor of land required for the same. The letter states that the Government still consider that such a station is required in order to render the extension of the railway to Te Aro of the fullest use to a large population at the southern end of the city, and the Under-Secretary is instructed to point out that the prosecution of the work would afford employment for a considerable number of men and tend largely to relieve the congestion at present existing in the labor market of the city.
