THE VALUATIONS.
TO TIIK EDITOR. Siu, —I see by your issuo of the 12th inst. that our town valuator has exposed a little of Mr Meek's doings ro valuation of coal yard and office. It is a pity ho did not go a littlo further and tell tlio ratepayers how Mr Meek thought it worth his while to give Mr Townsend a bonus of L2O fur his last year's lease of the same section, and how, as a member of tho Harbor Beard, he got the rent reduced from L 32 to LlO a year. I think tho valuator might give- the ratepayers a little more information re Mr Mock's valuations, and if he does not I will. In the meantime, I would advise Mr Meek, when he again goes to Court, to remember that he is a J.P., and to get experts to give evidence who have better memories than the one he had last time. "By inserting this you will oblige. I am, etc., F.vnirLAY.
