Mr Duncan presented ;i largoly-signwl petition in favor of Mrs Irvine, whose husband was killed in aKurow coal mine, receiving compassionate allowance, slio having, through ignorance, been debarred from getting relief from the Coal Miners Accident Fund. A petition from the North Otago Dili e-in-Schofils Association was presented by Mr Duncan to-day, praying for the introduction of Bible-reading in schools. Mr Duncan (on behalf of the member for Waimate) intends to ask the Minister for Public Works whether provision will be made on the Public Works Estimates for putting the road from Macrewlicniiii Valley to Kyeburn in a lit condition fur dray traffic.
