The Agents of the various Australian colonies will attend the memorial service which is to be held in Westminster Abbey in honor of the late Sir J olin Macdonald. The directors of the London Omnibus Company and Road Car Company refuse to confer with the men on strike, and threaten, unless the ofl'er made a few days ago is accepted, to engage new hands, in which case they will not give employment to any of their old hands, even although they may agree to accept their terms. Gonvero, who is ruler of the country extending from the north of the Zambesi River to Pungwe River, has declared in favor of British rule, and the Governor of Mozambique is sending troops to quell the revolt. The weekly returns of the Bank of England, published to-day, show the total reserve in notes and bullion to be L 18,758,000, this being an increase of L 1,098,000 as compared with the previous week. The proportion of the reserve to the current liabilities of the bank is 46 per cent. New Zealand 4 per cent, inscribed stock, 102 ; ditto 3J, 93|. Consols, 95. New Zealand long-berried wheat, 43s 6d; market weaker. For New Zealand wheat on passage sellers are asking 425, but buyers will not give more than 41s 6d. Canterbury mutton, 4§d ; Wellington, 4d ; Canterbury lambs, s|cl. New Zealand beef Forequarters, 3kl; hindquarters, 4fd. New Zealand hemp, fair quality, L2O; market firmer. Victorian wheat, 43s ; market weaker. South Australian wheat, 445; market weaker. Sugar —Best German beet, 13s 3d; Java, 15s, nominal. The wool market is active and prices at the sales are very firm. Three months' bills are discounted at 2f per cent. Three thousand bales of sheepskins were offered to-day, and most of them were sold at prices equal to those ruling at last series. The National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand has declared a dividend of 5 per cent., and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company a dividend of 10 per cent. The Chairman of the Loudon General Omnibus Company asserts that it would cost the company L 167,000 a year to accede to the men's demands. The concessions which the directors have offered to make to the men are equal to a sum of L 90,000 a year. Lord Mayor Savory is mediating in the dispute. Sir Charles Dilke has accepted an invitation to contest the Forest of Dean seat. Paris. June 12. The Government have decided to proceed against Ferdinand and Charles de Lesseps on charges in connection with the raising of funds to continue operations at the Panama Canal. The committee of the Chamber of Deputies recommend the admission of tallow free of duty, Lisbon, June 12. A Bill has been submitted to the Cortes to authorise the sale of the Portuguese colonies in East Africa. It is reported that England has completed arrangements for the purchase of Goa, a Portuguese possession in the Presidency of Bombay, India. Vienna, June 12. The strike of compositors has collapsed. Buenos Ayres, June 12. Gold payments in the Argentine Republic have been suspended for six vnonths. Ottawa, June 12. Received June 13, at 1 a.m.] Sydney, June 12. Sailed—Steamer Wailiora, for New Zoaland. ' Melbourne, June Much success has attended the use of Dr Koch's tuberculine in the Alfred Hospital. One lupus patient, who was in a very low state when the first injection was made, lias undergone a remarkable change, and has shown considerable improvement in health. The results obtained in this case have caused the medical profession to take a fresh interest in Dr Koch's discovery. ____________
